Slowly But Surely

Managed to get a session in after staying up and seeing in the new year.I had acrued 900 vpp`s of the 1000 needed to hit my free $10 stellar award so fired up 8 tables of $0.02/$0.05 in order to get the remaining 100 vpp`s that were needed.I played for around 1hr 30 mins and thankfully when i decided to close all tables down due to being pretty pissed and tired,i had acrued 101 lol.I have also just broken the $200 mark and im extremely pleased as the past few days have been extremely swingy being sat around $148 and crashing back down to $130

A guy named bookman513 did a pretty good job of trying to tilt me! He was loose as a goose.although i only had 100 hands on him he limped too much, and loved anything suited and he was player everyone wanted to play a pot with. His stats were 55/19 and was clearly incapable of folding much! here is the hand

it`s not often i lose my rag at the tables, esp when playing at 8 tables but this guy proceeded to type lol ouch in the chatbox which pretty much pissed me off.I then proceeded to get myself in a slanging match with him calling him a donk etc where he proceeded to tell me i was a loose aggresive opponent blah blah blah trying to justify his play and that i gave a free card to him on the turn by checking and that if i bet instead he goes away! I check raised big ffs only to see him call on a gutshot and hit,but hey ho i managed to recoup some of my money from him as he decided to spunk it away playing pretty much the same way and getting trapped every time!

New Year!

New Year's is a harmless annual institution, of no particular use to anybody save as a scapegoat for promiscuous drunks, and friendly calls and humbug resolutions! Drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past. Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go.

New years eve was was spent quietly at home this year.Georgie is still suffering the after effects from pneumonia so didn`t fancy venturing out in the cold. With us now living in Essex we had planned to see in the new year in London but that can wait another year. The quiet option however was good enough,we bought plenty of party food in the afternoon and a nice selection of beer, spirits and shots. We got the boy`s an xbox 360 with kinect for christmas and spent a good few hours on kinect. It is so addictive and such a good laugh.

The beer was going down too nicely,i had began to lose count how many i had and before i knew it georgie was pouring shots down my throat.but who cares,i didnt and was nice to see georgie enjoying herself after being ill for most of Christmas.

Sad Day

Today has been tough for me,on the eve of a brand new year i took the decision to remove myself from all poker forums i have been actively a member of!This wasn`t an easy decision for me or one that was taken lightly.pretty much every year i have similar thoughts of spending more time with my children and less at the online poker tables but in all honesty i never stick to it and end up returning hitting it harder than ever before! It has become a habit, one that has increasingly become harder to break and even i can see it has become a very unhealthy hobby,or at least for me anyway!

When i first started out playing i was very much a recreational player, firing up a few tables for fun and hoping i could donk my way to a nice score. That nice score did indeed come but with it was an invite to an online poker forum where everything pretty much changed for me i believe! Now i was a member of a league of very good friends and very good poker players who played regulary together in numerous league events.I guess i was still playing for fun but i was now thrust into a new world of chasing glory such as POW resulting in the volume of games i played rising to achieve bragging rights within my new community of friends and i guess believing im a better player than i actually am on the few occasions i managed to win player of the week. Before i knew it,i was a member of several forums where pretty much daily games within the forum are on offer,POW,POM,house games it`s pretty much endless.I have contributed to many forums over the past 2 years and i just guess finally i have become tired with it all! This is not the forums fault or those who run them but ultimately my own as i allowed myself to join them and i guess become addicted to it all when my family and children should be getting all the attention they need and not playing 2nd fiddle to a game of poker. In recent months i vastly reduced my playing of forum games and today`s decision to remove myself completely was a decision that should have been done long ago!

Cash Challenge Update

As i have not updated this blog in 15 months, there will be a few entry`s dated with todays date in case anyone is confused. My cash challenge has in fact been running for the past 35 days and im genuinely pleased with the progress i have made considering i have always been an MTT player!

$50 - $500 Cash Challenge

I seen a challenge on another forum and decided to give it a go! Basically start with bankroll of $50 and build it till it hits $500!

The levels are:
Bankroll $50 - $100 1/2cts
Bankroll $100 -$350 2/5cts
Bankroll $350 - $500 5/10cts

I have been playing both 6 max and FR with anywhere between 5 -15 tables at a time while donking around in mtt`s! I only take $1 to each table and im aware it`s most probably a mistake not taking the max buyin to the table.obv if i had AA the max i can win is $1 but this has been working for me and makes decisions like folding/calling Queens,Jacks AK to an all in shove much easier as you get plenty of $5 stacks rocking up at your tbl looking to shove any raise while holding AA,KK!

Day 44 11th September

I`ve hardly played or been updatin this so guess it`s time i pull my finger out! challenge ends 30th of september.i propa hindered my chances of completing this when i sent georgie $100 about a month ago.as it stands i have a total of $250.48,not bad considering i prolly havnt given this challenge the time i had planned in the beginning.to make matters worse im enrolling at college monday for a fulltime level 2 plumbing course! im sure most of my spare time will be dedicated to homework and the such :) so poker will be pretty much taking a backseat but i will continue to play as and when i can and see how it goes, thanks to everyone for their supportive comments and for following my challenge till now
